This study provides the information about the discourse, the current state of research on this issue, and one of the types of discourse, namely, cinematic discourse. Cinematic discourse in modern English- and Ukrainian-languages cinematography is considered through the prism of its lexical-semantic and structural peculiarities, which encourage the use of the following methods of linguistic analysis: the method of continuous sampling, the method of quantitative analysis, the descriptive method.
