The role and place of small business in the economy of Ukraine and the world

Small business plays an important role in the development of the economy of Ukraine and developed countries. However, there are problems in the application of basic concepts to small businesses in regulations and scientific discussion, and the issue of state support for small businesses is controversial. The aim of the article is to study the role and place of small business in the economy of Ukraine and the world in terms of the need and feasibility of their state support. The role of small business in Ukraine and developed countries is analyzed, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of small business development in the modern economy are identified, the author's definition of the concept of small business is offered. Conclusions are formed, ways of further researches are outlined.
