Display of protective equipment, weapons and other equipment in the painting by Joseph Brand "Comrade Armored"

Abstract

The article is a review of Jоzef Brandt’s painting “Comrade Armor” in terms of its relevance to historical realities. The paper presents the search for historical inaccuracies and explanations of their occurrence. The study of the painting is carried out with the help of visual analysis of the painting, its internal criticism, search for pictorial sources, their comparison with the canvas. Scientific research on the history of weapons by both Ukrainian and foreign authors is also used in the study. The object of research is military equipment and weapons; The subject of the study is the display of weapons, military equipment, armor and uniforms in the painting by Josef Brandt “Comrade Armored”. Research methods are descriptive-narrative, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, problemchronological, generalization, content analysis, historical-typological and others.
