The image of Alexander the Great in the lens of Oliver Stone

This study analyses the image of Alexander the Great in the 2004 feature film Alexander, written by world-renowned director Oliver Stone. The reasons for the film’s failure immediately after its release, the wave of criticism from both professionals and ordinary viewers regarding the script, direction, selection of actors for the lead roles were also investigated. This article analyses the "historicity" of the image of Alexander the Great, in many respects, played by Irish actor Colin Farrell.
