It reveals certain aspects of China’s foreign policy that go beyond traditional approaches and give China the opportunity to significantly increase its influence. Attention is paid to the potential consequences of the dependence of countries of the Global South on Chinese financial and investment resources. It considers the problems of countries facing the consequences of debt dependence and the threat of limiting economic and political autonomy due to the attraction of Chinese capital. It establishes the political consequences of China’s economic involvement in the development of infrastructure in countries of the Global South.
