Abstract

This article is dedicated to the analysis of the periodization of the Cold War – a global confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union in the second half of the 20th century. The paper examines the main approaches to dividing the Cold War into key phases, considering the political, economic, and military aspects of the conflict. Special attention is given to three approaches to periodization: Soviet-Russian, traditional Western, and revisionist.
The article aims to systematize these approaches based on the positions of various researchers and to describe the critical points where their views diverge the most. The article seeks to deepen the understanding.
