Ways of resolving the issue of Britain's withdrawal from the EU and ways of further settlement

Abstract

This document focuses on the current problem facing the European Union. When analyzing the existing alternative formats of interaction, it becomes obvious that the solution of this problem is impossible without fundamental concessions from the EU. However, it seems unlikely that EU leaders will make such concessions, especially given the increased heterogeneity of Member States’ views on a number of pressing issues for the future functioning of the EU. In such situation, the fundamental concessions made to Britain may call into question the unity of the group. In addition, Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union has already caused the latter serious reputational damage and raised questions about the limits of integration. In this situation, EU leaders will have to reconsider the priorities and methods of developing an integration project.
