Priorities of France's foreign policy during E. Macron

The article examines the foreign policy of France during the presidency of E. Macron. There is a desire of the new president to give foreign policy a more dynamic style and at the same time to make it, compared to his predecessors, more elements of realism and pragmatism. At the same time, it is stated that the basic foundations of France’s course in the international arena have not changed. As a result, there is a fundamental contradiction, which was increasingly evident in Macron’s predecessors – between attempts to pursue an independent “state” line and the focus on deepening European integration and cooperation within NATO. Macron’s foreign policy in Africa and Asia, as well as his foreign policy towards Russia and Belarus, are studied separately.
