The images of the hero and the enemy in the Soviet Ukrainian cinema of 1956-1967

Abstract

This work is about the embodiment of the image of the “enemy” in the Ukrainian Soviet cinema of the period 1919–1939, its transformation, the types of “enemies” in the cinema. We analyze the situation in the Ukrainian cinema of the period 1919–1939, the main directions of film propaganda against the “enemies” of the USSR are shown: against external, internal and hidden enemies, anti-religious propaganda. The specificity of studying the topic involves the use of general scientific (research, analytical, synthetic, generalization) and special historical (periodization, problem-chronological, historical-comparative, historical-genetic) methods.
